Pabna Textile Engineering College (PTEC) was established in 2006 as one of the reputed public textile engineering colleges located at Shalgaria, Pabna. The College is operated under the Jute & Textile Ministry of Bangladesh Government, and also has affiliation with Bangladesh University of Textiles. Pabna Textile Engineering College is offering 4-year bachelor B.Sc degree in Textile Engineering.
Actually, PTEC was a Weaving School established in 1915 during the British colonial rule. The School was upgraded to “Pabna District Textile Institute” in 1980 which would offer two-year certificate course in Textile Technology. In 1994 the Institute offered three-year Diploma course in Textile Engineering under BTEB.
Finally, Bangladesh Government upgraded the Institute to “Pabna Textile Engineering College” in 2006 to offer 4-Year Bachelor Degree in Textile Engineering. At present, Pabna Textile Engineering College has more than 320 students of B.Sc in Textile Engineering course.
