Started its journey on 14th May 1973, the Jiban Bima Corporation (JBC) is the only State-owned Life Insurance Company in Bangladesh. Since its inception, JBC has been working with Two Basic Objectives: Firstly, to cover the risks and raise savings habits among the people, and Secondly, to create funds for the country’s economic development through innovative life insurance schemes.
The Jiban Bima Corporation (JBC) offers various types of life insurance schemes such as grameen bima policy, whole life assurance, mortgage protection policy, endowment assurance, single payment policy, joint life endowment policy, progressive premium policy, group term insurance policy, pension scheme policy etc.
The Head Office of Jiban Bima Corporation is located at Motijheel (Commercial Area) in Dhaka, Bangladesh. JBC has over 68 sales and 343 branch offices all over the Country. Its activities of regional, zonal, sales and branch offices are conducted through eight divisions. Name of these Eight Divisions are: Administration Division, Development Division, Computer Division, Accounts and Finance Division, Group Insurance Division, Technical Affairs Division, Assets and Engineering Division, and Internal Audit and Inspection Division.
The Chairman of Jiban Bima Corporation is Dr. Mohammed Sohrab Uddin.
