Bangladesh Blood Donors is a non-profit voluntary project taken by Human Rights Information & Development Society (HRIDS), an NGO registered under The Society Registration Act of 1860, working as a unique online platform for both blood donors and recipients. It provides all the services at FREE of cost and strongly discourage selling blood. Since 2001, the website (www.rokto.org) of Bangladesh Blood Donors has been dedicated for providing blood related services in the Country.
It holds a strong database of blood donors. In order to search the voluntary blood donors or database of blood donors from the website, one must have to be a member first. Doing registration, one can be member of ‘Bangladesh Blood Donors’ and can easily search the donors’ database through login the account. Moreover, the member can also post a request for blood if the relevant blood group not find in the database. The database is designed with all detailed information of blood donors so that one can easily find out the donor(s), can contact with him/her and request to donate blood.
Bangladesh Blood Donors also promotes blood donation culture; creates awareness about unsafe blood such as the blood which convicted with HIV/AIDS, unsafe blood transfusion, blood related diseases etc; conducts blood donation camp in different universities, colleges, and institutions; organizes training programs for volunteers and more.
